Latimer was born on September 4th, 1848 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. 
Created and patented the carbon light-bulb filament so light bulbs lasted for hours and could be mass produced/sold. 
Created air conditioning and improved the railroad car toilet. 
Co-invented with Alexander Graham Bell.
